2019: APC SENATOR,STAKEHOLDERS SAY EKERE, NOT A GOOD LEADER


Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Esit Eket local Government Area led by their political leader, Senator Etang Edet Umoyo have risen from a meeting to declare that Akwa Ibom people should not entrust Mr. Nsima Ekere, the Managing Director of NDDC their mandate for any leadership position.

The stakeholders reached the resolution in Akpautong, Esit Eket following discussions on challenges threatening the survival of the party in the area.

The said certain inactions of some stakeholders have destabilized the party's structures and its leadership across wards.

Sen. Umoyo in his address expressed sadness in the manner some stakeholders of the APC have ganged up with external forces against the party's interest in Esit Eket which he claimed has rendered the party politically irrelevant.


The  senator whose patriotic antecedence and political standpoint is obviously not in doubt, challenged the MD of NDDC to justify reasons for refusing contractors issuance of interim payment certificates and non payment of debts to contractors handling NDDC projects.

"To him there's no justice, there's no truth and equity; it is only when you agree to support or become a member of his evil gang that Nsima Ekere will consider you for anything; hence his true identity has been revealed which shows that he (Nsima) is not fit to lead Akwa Ibom State"

Umoyo hinted that the party must undergo serious political rehabilitation in other to escape imminent extinction in the area.

The former Cross River State Commissioner for Agriculture stated there was an initial agreement to harmonize the last congress lists with the consent of all the authentic recognise ward leaders before forwading same to the congress committee for ratification and approval, however "this was doctored by Nsima Ekere and his evil gangs."

"As chairman of the congress committee in Esit Eket, I was not consulted, the entire elders of the party in the area were flagrantly ignored and schemed out by Barr. Bassey Essien, Dan-Abia Jnr and Eseme Eyibo on the instructions of Nsima against the general interest of the people"

Umoyo further explained that the chapter and ward executives lists was subverted as a result of Nsima's insatiable ego for power saying that the entire arrangement for a resolution to adopt 2014 congress lists which was unanimously upheld in a meeting held at the residence of Ita Enang and signed by Obong Umanna Umana, Sen. John Udoedehe, Mr. Nsima Ekere, Sen. Aloysius Etuk, Sam Ewang, Sen. Ita Enang and Chief Don Etiebiet to accommodate the interest of Sen. John Udoedehe's supporters in the chapter executives formation across the State was completely jettisoned.

The APC leader in Esit Eket alleged that Barr. Dan-Abia Jnr. and Hon. Eseme Eyibo who jointly aided Nsima Ekere to highjack and monopolize the entire party structure against the wishes of the people in preparation for Nsima's Governorship aspiration in Akwa Ibom State, are dented politicians.


"Initially, we all thought that Nsima is friendly and has the interest of Esit Eket at heart, but now, he has completely ignore leadership" Sen. Umoyo asserted.


Dr. Michael Eyo, a one time permanent secretary in the State, in his submission reaffirmed his support to the leadership of Sen. Umoyo led APC. He noted that there's neiher chapter nor ward executives of the Party in Esit Eket and admitted that the last congress conducted by the APC witnessed the highest level of desperation and highjacking from the camp of Nsima Ekere.

Also speaking, the APC chapter chairman Mr. Aniefiok Cobb in his remarks reassured members of his party that there is no cause for alarm. Cobb advised all stakeholders to stand on the side of development and equity.

The chapter chairman added that the will of God on who will be Governor of the State will manifest for the people of Akwa Ibom State come 2019.

The meeting was attended by Sen. Etang Edet Umoyo, Dr. Michael Eyo, Etteidung Ime Idiyang, Chief Friday Akpadiaha (Ikang), Elder Sunday Assan, Rt. Hon. Theophilus Umoyo, Ubong Umanna, Mr. O. O. Moses, Dr. Ikang, Chief Udo Onwung, Akparawa Okon Etangkanga, Monday Ette, chapter and wards executives, party stalwarts, women and youths.
